Arc Infrastructure operates the 5,500km freight rail network in the southern part of Western Australia. As part of ongoing improvements to freight rail operations at Albany Port, we will soon commence works to upgrade rail infrastructure within the port.
These works are scheduled to take place from 1 October to 14 October 2026 and will be undertaken during day shifts only, between 6am and 6pm. The works will involve rail construction activities and the use of plant and equipment within the rail corridor. While every effort will be made to minimise impacts on nearby residents, you may notice some temporary increases in noise associated with construction activities during this period.
Earlier this year, Arc commissioned an independent baseline noise assessment to better understand existing noise conditions in the area ahead of the project. The results of this assessment will help inform our understanding of the project's operational impacts once the new infrastructure is in service.
We appreciate your patience while these works are undertaken. The project will improve operational efficiency and support freight rail movements within the Albany Port precinct.
